How Our Bonus System Works
Seize the Opportunity – 20%
Description: See it → Own it → Do it, Delegate it, or Schedule it.
We don’t walk past problems, half-done work, or obvious next steps. If you see something that needs to be done, you own the outcome: either you do it, you get the right person to do it, or you put it on the calendar with a clear owner and deadline.
Behaviors:
- Spots issues early and moves without being told.
- Keeps their manager informed instead of waiting to be chased.
- Shows up in crises and leans in, not back.
Exceed the Standard – 20%
Description: Leave it better than you found it. Be 1% better every day.
Minimums are the floor, not the target. We do professional work, not “good enough to not get yelled at.” Exceeding the standard means owning the result, not just checking the box on the task, and constantly looking for ways to improve how we do the work.
Behaviors:
- Delivers clean, complete work that doesn’t need babysitting.
- Double-checks their own work and welcomes critique.
- Measures progress by outcomes and impact, not “I tried.”
Demonstrates Pro Action – 20%
Description: Communicate early. Ask for help. Help others succeed.
It’s your responsibility to know your job and the SOPs. If you don’t know, you research, and if you still can’t find the answer, you ask before guessing. Pro-action means you anticipate problems, surface them early, and bring options instead of excuses.
Behaviors:
- Manages deadlines and priorities without constant reminders.
- Flags blockers with proposed solutions.
- Knows when they’re in over their head and calls for backup before it becomes a fire.
Grow or Die – 20%
Description: Progress over perfection. Mistakes → Learning → Change.
There is no staying the same. You’re either getting better or you’re falling behind. We don’t expect perfection, but we do expect that when you get feedback or make a mistake, you change your behavior. Growth is daily: skills, mindset, and habits.
Behaviors:
- Actively seeks feedback and doesn’t get defensive.
- Invests in learning (books, training, coaching) and applies it on the job.
- Can point to concrete ways they are better this quarter than last quarter.
Value Exchange – 20%
Description: Every voice is heard. Alignment > Agreement. Give more than you take. Collaboration & Teamwork.
We are a meritocracy. Everyone has a voice, but decisions must align with the mission and the Gold Collar standard. Value Exchange means you understand we are here to trade value: you bring effort, attitude, and results; the company brings pay, benefits, growth, and opportunity. Both sides win, or it doesn’t work.
Behaviors:
- Communicates directly and respectfully, even when disagreeing.
- Turns in clean timecards, receipts, and documentation so others can do their jobs.
- Looks for ways to create more value than they consume—for customers, teammates, and the company.
